Here’s The Latest On Google Inc. Upcoming Nexus Smartphones

Recent reports reveal Google is all set to introduce two Nexus smartphones. Bidness Etc takes a look at the expected features and what the devices will be called.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has been working with Huawei and LG on its latest Nexus smartphones for quite some time now. Reports from Droid Life reveal the upcoming Huawei-made successor to last year’s Nexus 6 will be named, the Nexus 6P.

While the LG manufactured smartphone is expected to be unveiled by the end of this month and will be called the Nexus 5X - a successor to Nexus 5 which was the most popular Nexus smartphone in the series.

It seems Google could pose a serious challenge to Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 6s with its latest smartphones. This time around, Google is prepared to make amends and is looking to introduce two models of its flagship device. The Nexus 5X is a 5.2-inch smartphone while the larger Huawei-made Nexus 6P is a phablet.

It comes as little surprise as to why Google has named its Huawei Nexus as the Nexus 6P. The P could possibly stand for a phablet while some merely think Huawei has a habit of using "P" to name its flagships.

Google is expected to unveil the two new smartphones alongside a new Chromecast at Google's event scheduled for September 29. Leaked pictures of the two devices have surfaced over the Internet, showcasing the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner and protruding rear cameras.

Stay tuned for more news on the smartphones as we head closer to Google's event.

Have you ever thought of watching movies on your Nexus Devices? Yes but found your Blu-ray, DVD, MKV, AVI, Tivo, FLV movies can't be imported to your Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P? Don't worry. iOS 9 for iPhone/iPad: Download and install Apple's newest operating system

Apple is preparing to release iOS 9 to the general public on 16 September, bringing a whole host of updates and new features to several versions of the iPhone and iPad, as well as the most recent iPad touch. The update should become available at between 5pm and 6pm (BST), and here is everything you need to know about downloading and installing it.

What is iOS 8?

The operating system of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch is called iOS. On 16 September, the annual update will become available for most users of these Apple products (see the compatibility section below to see if you are eligible for the update). Major updates for iOS 9 include Siri becoming more context aware, an increase in battery life, improved search functions, split-screen multitasking (iPad only), a performance boost, a new font, ad-blocking for Safari, and much more.

On which devices will iOS 9 be available?

You will be able to install iOS 9 on the following devices:

That's a healthy list of 20 devices, but there are some caveats to be aware of. For example, the 'picture in picture' and 'slide over' features are only available on the iPad Pro, iPad Air and Air 2, iPad mini 2, 3 and 4. 'Split view' multitasking is only available on the iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4. Some features of iOS 9 are only unavailable in certain countries, on which Apple has more information here.

Before you download iOS 9 - back up
Before starting any major software update, like the switch to iOS 9, you should perform a full backup of your device. That way, if anything goes wrong during the installation, you can restore the device and get back everything you had saved on it.

To backup with iCloud go to the Settings app, then iCloud > Backup & Storage, and click Back Up Now.

To backup using iTunes, connect your device, sync with iTunes (this is disabled and not necessary if you already have backing up with iCloud turned on) then head to the pane of iTunes showing your connected device and click Back Up Now.

Or backup your files with Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS for Windows/Mac.

Updating wirelessly to iOS 9

Introduced back with iOS 5, wireless updating means your device can download and install the newest software over Wi-Fi and without the need to plug into a computer. Connect your device to a power source, turn it on and connect to an available Wi-Fi network to avoid downloading the update over 3G and incurring a potentially large data bill.

Go to the Settings app and then General > Software Update. iOS will then check to see if iOS 9 is available; once found, tap Download. Depending on your device, iOS 9 could be a very large file and take some time to download. To try and speed thing up - and make space for iOS 9 - Apple will automatically delete some apps from your device to make space, then install iOS 9, and then reinstall those apps.

Often, downloads are very slow on launch day, as Apple's servers are bombarded with eager users looking for the download. iOS 9 will downloaded in the background so you can continue using your device in the meantime.

Once downloaded, your device will show a message stating that your download will be installed in 10 seconds. You can either wait, or tap Install to start the process right away.

The installation process will take a few minutes, during which time a loading screen and the Apple logo will appear, and your device may reboot a couple of times. Once installed, you will be greeted with the new iOS 9 welcome screen and from there you are ready to start using your device again.

Updating to iOS 9 using iTunes

First, ensure you are running the latest version of iTunes as this will be required to install iOS 9.

Connect your iDevice to the computer using a USB cable. This will prompt iTunes to open and once it does you need to click on the connected device. Then Click 'Check for Updates' in the Summary pane to search for iOS 9.

If available, iTunes will ask if you want to download iOS 9. Click Download and Update, and iTunes will go ahead and install the new system onto your device.

As we said above, downloading iOS 9 on launch day will be a very slow process due to many users all doing the same thing at once. It is often better to wait until the next morning, giving Apple's servers a chance to recover.

iPhone 6s And 6s Plus Pre-Order Trend Show Strong Demand

Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have started to accept pre-orders. The new flagship phones which were launched on Wednesday were opened for pre-orders since September 12, reported 9to5Mac. Hours before the pre-order was activated, the company's online store was shut down for some updates.

The new Apple phones now allow pre-orders in 12 countries, while last year, it was only 10. The two additional countries are China and New Zealand, which is significant, said Forbes, especially China. While pre-order windows before shipment were usually one week for iPhones, they become two weeks this year.
When the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus pre-orders opened, they showed that the new smartphones have strong demand. Shipping times soared to four to six weeks while the devices were sold out in some countries barely a day after they went on sale, reported a post on Apple Insider.

According to a blog which monitors Apple online store shipping times, those who are to pre-order yet will wait for at least two weeks for iPhone 6S Plus; and while the 6S has greater availability, it also has waiting time.

The consumers respond positively to Apple's new color variant offering, as the rose gold has the most orders. As of September 12 in Canada, both the 64 and the 128GB rose gold-colored iPhones are the only ones which showed shipping delay, meaning, more orders for these models are in queue.

In China, shipping times of all models of the smaller flagship reached two to three weeks while they clocked three to four weeks for the bigger iPhone. In Hong Kong, the new iPhones reached four to six weeks, less than an hour after the sale. They were completely sold out and are not available for reservation or pre-order.

While Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are already selling for pre-orders, the new handsets are set to physically land on Apple's retail stores on September 25. Those who want to trade their old iPhones have several attractive deals to choose from.

Wether you have made your decision to buy iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s plus, one thing is for sure from this iPhone: both iPhones will give keen enjoyment in playing videos and movies, especially those in SD/HD/4K formats. And iFastime Video Converter Ultimate/iFastime Video Converter Ultimate for Mac is an expert in converting videos in any format like MP4, MOV, FLV, WMV, AVI and HD MKV, MTS, TS and even 4K UHD etc to formats supported by iPhone, including iPhone 6S/6S Plus, iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 5S/5C and more with 6X faster speed and no quality loss.

Besides, it can be used as a video editor to crip, trim video, add special effects or insert *.srt/*.ass/*.ssa subtitles. And merging several video files into a single integrated one and spliting large files are both quite easy too.

Apple Allowing Developers Who Won Apple TV Lottery to Place Orders

The new Apple TV won't be available to consumers until the end of October, but some developers are able to get their hands on one of the devices early in order to begin preparing and testing apps for the tvOS App Store.

Following last week's "Hey Siri" media event, Apple gave developers an opportunity to sign up for a lottery for an Apple TV Developer Kit, which ended today. Developers who won the lottery are now receiving invitations allowing them to purchase an Apple TV kit, and the first Apple TVs could be in developer hands by the end of this week.

Developers who were selected for the lottery are required to order by Wednesday, September 16, with orders beginning to ship out one to three days after that. Apple is providing Apple TV Developer Kits to developers at no cost, with a $1 fee being charged to verify billing and shipping addresses.

With Apple TVs in the hands of developers in just a few short days, we may learn a lot more about the device ahead of its official October launch date, and we'll almost certainly get a glimpse at what kind of apps we can expect on it. We've already seen an unboxing of the new Apple TV, which gave us a look at the set-top box itself and the new touch-based Siri remote included with it.

The new Apple TV features a much more powerful A8 processor, 2GB of RAM, more storage space, and a brand new operating system called tvOS, which supports a full App Store and adds Siri for full voice control. Popular media streaming apps Plex and VLC, for example, are both coming to the Apple TV, with tvOS versions already in the works.

The Apple TV also has deep search capabilities that will make it possible for users to search for content across multiple apps to find television shows and movies, and its aforementioned touch-based remote doubles as a motion-supported gaming controller for games that will be found within the new App Store.

To successfully get rid of all the worries in playing 2K/4K, HD or Common Videos and Movies via Apple TV on large sceen TV, you might have to take the advantage of some professional HD video conversion or compression software. iFastime Video Converter Ultimate or iFastime Video Converter Ultimate for Mac can help convert any video formats including MP4, Tivo, MKV, ISO, Blu-ray, DVD, etc. regardless of high or standard definition and make them streamable and playback on Apple TV 1/2/3/4 without worrying about the file size, memory and compatibility.
