Two ways to Upload DVD to iCloud for iPhone/iPad/iPod/Apple TV

Any way to upload or transfer DVD to iCloud?

Q:
I got some DVD movies and want to put them on iCloud so that I can download them to my iOS devices wirelessly. But when I insert my DVD, iCloud cannot recognize it. Is there any way for me to transfer DVD to iCloud?

Well, it is a good idea to tranfer DVD to iCloud for playing on iOS devices like iPad, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, etc. except that the iCloud doesn't support DVD format. But don't worry! You can convert DVD to iCloud easily and quickly. Next we will tell you two ways to convert DVD movies to iCloud format for uploading into iPhone/iPad/iPod/Apple TV on Mac and Windows.

First way:

First of all, please free download the free DVD to iCloud Converter - HandBrake. Handbrake has a very easy to use interface, and the default settings normally work very well.

Guide: How to Convert DVD to iCloud for iPhone/iPad/iPod/Apple TV

Step 1: Install and Run it

Install the Handbrake and run program on your computer. Then click the "Source" button to convert DVD to iCloud format. There is a drop-down menu named "Title:". You are given a list of Titles on the source. Select the one you wish to encode.

Step 2: Set Destination

Click the "Browse" button in the Destination box. Browse to where you wish to save the output video. Type in a file name. Click "Save".

Step 3: Output settings

Choose a preset from the Preset list. This will automatically setup the all the required settings. All you need to do now is press the "Encode Video" button and wait for it to finish.

Step 3: Start Conversion

After all settings done, you can simply press the "Start" button to begin converting DVD to iCloud format. That's all! When the conversion is finished, you can log on your iCloud and transfer the converted DVD files to iCloud smoothly.

Tips:

The Windows version is available and the workflow is almost the same. Sounds great? While, there are always two sides to everything. And trouble can arise in unexpected places as below:

1. Handbrake seems powerless when ripping encrypted DVD movies or commercial DVDs, leaving you as nervous as a cat on the hot roof.

2. In the meantime, this Mac DVD ripper supports only two output formats: MKV and MP4.

3. Consequently, if you want to choose AVI or FLV as your final format for uploading to Samsung devices, you have to turn to other DVD ripping software.

4. Worse still, you'll be disappointed about Handbrake's bad compatibility with Mac OS X El Capitan\Yosemite even though it declared that some bugs for running on the new system had been fixed.

Second way:

Here iFastime Video Converter Ultimate for Mac is highly recommended which can encode DVDs iCloud friendly formats like MP4, MOV, M4V. Besides iCloud, it offers a lot of outputs for devices including iPad, iPhone, Samsung Tab, Nexus, Kindle and more so that users can enjoy movies anywhere anytime.
